Green Flag Smart Service is designed to save you time, money and hassle on your MOT, servicing and mechanical repairs. It’s provided by Hollyfield Roadserve Limited (Roadserve), who will handle everything from the moment you make a booking.

We’ve included this service as an added benefit to your breakdown cover. You can activate your membership online using your policy number.

Your personal RoadServe Maintenance Controller will liaise with the garage and check what work is being recommended, if it's necessary and that it's their best rate, so you don’t have to worry. And remember, RoadServe will always get your consent before taking payment for the things that need fixing.

Your charges will be based on preferential rates that RoadServe will negotiate for you, which can help you save money. You’ll be charged an admin fee of up to 6% for any work done, but the fee will never be more than what you’d save.

Q1 Why should I join Green Flag Smart Service?
Answer: As a member, you become part of RoadServe’s large network of vehicles, which means preferential rates on MOTs, services and mechanical repairs. RoadServe’s team of highly-trained maintenance controllers manage the servicing or repair work on your behalf, giving you peace of mind that your vehicle is in expert hands and you only pay for what you need. To keep you in the driving seat you will always need to consent to necessary work. You won’t have to talk to the garage, and all work is guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, and if things do go wrong, RoadServe will deal with the garage on your behalf. Many of the garages in the network offer free collection and delivery services and courtesy cars, subject to availability.
Q2 How do I book my vehicle in?
Answer: Once you have a Green Flag Smart Service membership, the online booking facilities can be accessed through the MyGarage area of the website. Alternatively, just give RoadServe a call on 0330 333 7104.
Q3 Do I need to deal with the garage at all?
Answer: RoadServe will take care of every aspect of the booking and payment. Your only contact will be to drop of the vehicle and collect it from the garage, unless you choose to have it collected (so long as your garage offers this service).
Q4 Can I choose the garage I want?
Answer: RoadServe will provide a selection of garages from an approved network based on your preferred location and any other criteria you use as part of the online booking process. All garages are monitored by RoadServe to ensure high quality standards are maintained. If your garage of choice isn’t listed, just call RoadServe on 0330 333 7104, who may be able to help.
Q5 How do I choose the date for my service or repair?
Answer: The earliest available date will be displayed for each garage shown during your booking selection. You can then enter a preferred date and a second choice. The actual date will be confirmed at the end of the booking process.
Q6 What types of garages are in the Network?
Answer: RoadServe’s network of over 15,000 garages means there should always be a garage near you. This includes main dealers and independent garages.
Q7 Will I know how much the work will cost in advance?
Answer: Yes, you’ll be in charge all the way. No work will be undertaken or charged to you without your consent. No more surprises.
Q8 Can I have a collection and delivery service or a courtesy car when the work is being done?
Answer: If the facility is available at your chosen garage, this can be requested when booking a service or repair on the MyGarage area of the website. You can of course take your car to the garage and collect it yourself, which will give you a wider range of garages and dates.
Q9 My vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty - can work be done without affecting my warranty?
Answer: Yes, to ensure that manufacturer warranties are not invalidated, Roadserve garages perform work in accordance with the manufacturer's service schedule and ensure that the parts used are Original Equipment (OE) equivalent. Any warranty rectification required has to be completed by a franchised repairer. Your RoadServe controller will discuss this with you and help you with the arrangements wherever possible.
Q10 Why is there an admin fee on top of the invoice?
Answer: All of the garages use RoadServe’s network discount rates and apply it to your invoice. There’s a 6% administration fee to cover RoadServe’s costs for delivering the service, but that only happens if you make a saving of more than 6%. You’ll be able to see the savings you’ve made on your invoice.
Q11 Is the work guaranteed?
Answer: Yes, any parts and labour provided through RoadServe’s network of garages is guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever is soonest, with some parts being guaranteed for longer.
Q12 What happens if I am unhappy with any aspect of the work on my vehicle?
Answer: You should contact RoadServe immediately and they’ll deal with the garage on your behalf. Call 0330 333 7104 or email us at smartservice@greenflag.com
Q13 Can I contact a garage directly to have work done on my vehicle?
Answer: Not if you want all the benefits of being a member. Membership positions your vehicle as part of a large network of vehicles, therefore all repairs, servicing and tyres need to be booked through RoadServe to receive preferential rates.
Q14 Can I use my Green Flag Smart Service membership to buy tyres?
Answer: Yes. Select the tyre option when making a booking.
Q15 What do I need to do if I change my car?
Answer: Your vehicle details will be automatically updated when you inform Green Flag. This can take up to seven days. If you need to use the service within seven days of changing your vehicle, check the MyGarage section of the website is displaying your new vehicle. If it isn’t, follow the on-screen instructions to arrange a manual booking.
Q16 Are there any fees for changing my details or cancelling my Green Flag Smart Service membership?
Answer: There are no administration charges for amending your details or fees for terminating your membership.
