Van drivers are the worst on our roads, according to a poll.
Youngsters were the next worst, followed by older drivers and school-run mothers, said the voters in a survey by Vaninsurance.co.uk.
White van drivers are too fast, overtake in dangerous situations, intimidate other road users and drive too close to the vehicle in front, said the majority of those polled. The best road users were reckoned to include lorry drivers, bus drivers and motorcyclists.
Van Insurance Ltd managing director Lee Grandin said: "It is such a shame that UK motorists still believe that van drivers are the worst on the roads.
"Van drivers are often more careful road users as their business is advertised across the side of their van, so they need to 'keep a clean sheet' as they are in public. However, it is the one or two bad van drivers that are still tarnishing the reputation of everyone else.
"We are urging all road users to seriously consider who actually is a bad driver. Chances are that if you are being overtaken in a dangerous situation or being tailgated, it is by the real bad drivers such as the travelling salesmen."
