Former Liverpool footballer Dietmar Hamann has been found guilty of drink driving.
The soccer star was banned from the roads after being stopped at junction six of the M56 on July 12 last year.
Police stopped the 36-year-old, of Styal, Cheshire, after seeing his car weave across the lane and stop abruptly at a red light.
Trafford Magistrates' Court in Manchester heard that he was so drunk he clipped the motorway kerb three times in his Range Rover.
Hamann, who was represented by celebrity lawyer Nick Freeman's firm, was charged with drink-driving after positive breath and urine samples.
Lawyer Jon Oultram argued the urine specimen was "not reliable", saying the two samples taken were equivilant to one after Hamann had not been allowed to empty his bladder in between.
However, Judge Mark Hadfield ruled that the samples were separate.
