Citroen ready to unveil DS3 Racing

The Citroen DS3 Racing will go on sale in the second half of 2010

French carmaker Citroen will unveil a limited edition version of its DS3 premium hatch on its stand at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Sales of the DS3 Racing will begin in the second half of 2010, but just 1,000 will be available to the public to buy.

The new model will have a 200bhp version of the 1.6-litre THP engine that is featured in the DS3, but will also have nearly 30% more power and 15% more torque due to higher-specification components and revised engine management software.

The extra power will be harnessed by a wider track, lowered and stiffened suspension and tweaked electric power steering, giving even more grip and sharper responses. The standard ESP system provides more slip in standard mode, but allows the option of turning it off, while the brakes have been uprated.

Grey paintwork is contrasted with an orange roof, door mirrors and brake callipers to give the trademark look of a hot hatch, while carbon fibre trim and 18-inch alloy wheels complete the look.
